Management Information System.
Silverwood Doors are one of Ireland’s leading fitted furniture manufacturers. They are experts in the design and manufacture of high quality foil wrapped MDF furniture components.
Requirements
Silverwood Doors required an update to their existing Management Information System. They needed a system to be at the centre of coordinating order processing and their manufacturing activities. The current system encompassed a comprehensive sales order processing, quotation, purchasing, bill of material and manufacturing control functionality and the new solution was required to enhance these functions and add on additional benefits.
Solution
Fluent Technology having previously worked with Silverwood Doors, created a solution that increased the functionality on the old system as well as adding value to the solution and the existing order processing, BoM and quotation functionality. The solution created has the following features:
- Integration with Silverwood’s Zebra S4M label printing system to speed up label generation for completed orders
- Shop floor data capture (proposing to start with a trial at the sawing stage before progressing to the routing, packing and pressing stages)
- Full auditing of stock movement throughout the system
- A global price update tool to speed up the process of applying product price updates
Value
Since implementing the system Silverwood Doors has dramatically decreased timely administration duties needed for an end to end service, this has ultimately resulted in increased productivity.
