Pathology services make up an essential part of clinical work within the health services. The Northern Ireland State Pathology Department has the responsibility of providing independent forensic pathology services to Northern Ireland. This responsibility requires the ability to efficiently record, manage and track every case from start to finish.
Requirements
In order for the proficient tracking of case-related information and the streamlining of case management, the NISPD required the development of a robust, secure and highly functional database solution. It was essential that potential solution providers showed the ability to understand NISPD’s current information processes and provide advice on how best to improve operational procedures using ICT.
Solution
Fluent Technology developed an intuitive case management system, for the Northern Ireland Office. The system includes:
- An easy to use interactive query tool to aid in the extraction, sharing and use of the information held in the database to improve decision making
- Provision of a helpdesk service to ensure all queries are handled efficiently and with minimal interruption of service
- Technical support for the integration and implementation of the system
- Ability to enhance system through change control system
